It’s not hard to see why. This man just committed the worst foreign policy blunder since the fall of Saigon or maybe even worse.

Yes it’s true that most Americans don’t want a prolonged war in Afganistán. But too many people completely failed to recognize that we had an extremely low level involvement in Afghanistan from 2017 to 2020. Last year we only had a skeleton force of 2500 troops. The majority of them were not engaged in direct combat but only supporting the Afghan army. The last military casualty we had over there was in February on 2020. 18 months of no military casualties.

Also yes we spent almost a trillion dollars on the war but the recent years was only a fraction of the cost. But we were only spending 35 billion a year at this point. We probably could negotiated access to their rare earth minerals in exchange to help protect their country. But we didn’t.

Biden went against all practical advice and good intelligence JUST to say “I was the president that got the USA out of Afghanistan”. He had no other legitimate or rational reason beyond that.

Also you people naively saying “not our country so not our problem” have no idea of the far reaching consequences of this crisis. Afghanistan was and now is again (ISIS and al queda are back) a shelter country for international terrorists. It’s also rich in natural resources that our larger and more dangerous enemies (Russia and China) want access too. This also did irreparable damage to America’s reputation. Other countries will now be less willing to ally with us and for good reason. To top is all off they now have $85 billion dollars worth of advanced military equipment and weaponry. This is batshit insane.
