Been pursuing this girl in one of my classes. I'm 18, she's 17, and we seem to have quite a bit in common in regards to common interests(hobbies, music, etc).

She's extremely cute and kinda quiet but can be energetic at times. When we text we usually go back and forth for quite a bit mainly in the night or morning (she's prob busy in the middle of the day as I don't get responses back), and she seems to be very enthusiastic in her texts. We mainly talks about common interests, like funny stories at work or our video game interests

Lately though I've been flirting with her and both in person and text(mainly text, don't see her that often sadly) and send sincere witty compliments that relate to the conversation.

Here's the kicker: She doesn't flirt back, she denies any compliment, and she may change the subject. I had heard from one of her childhood friends that I managed to befriend that she plays VERY hard to get, so this maybe why?

The second part that intrigues me is that she doesn't exactly reject me. If she was uncomfortable with my flirting/my advances, she would clearly stop talking to me or show negative body language right? But she doesn't

So I don't understand this girl and I'm sorta ready to throw in the towel.. but if I stay and pursue she may see "wow... he's really the right guy I've been waiting for"

Any viewpoints onto my situation or onto any situation you guys/girls can relate too? thanks

Has any girl received a text from a guy she's talking to and intentionally ignored it or forgot to text him back. If you've ignored it why did you flirt and talk with him in the first place? Or if you forgot because you where busy did you text or even call him back? Is it possible for a girl to be so busy that she won't text the guy for a whole week even though he text her three times that week? Some people call that being shy or a way for the girl to say she isn't interested, but uninterested girls don't give you their numbers and shy girls don't initiate flirty comments. Just attempting to understand girls here since when guys pursue girls that act this way were labeled annoying or clingy, but if we stop communicating then were labeled as jerks or players. This is what causes sincere and nice guys that search for real relationships to become jerks that just want a one night stand. Nowadays nice guys do the pursuing while the jerks get pursued. So F.Y.I girls this is why those jerks used to be nice guys, they realized being nice just didn't cut it anymore.
