Search Results: shy guy being comfortable around me

The both of us are huge introverts. We're also both shy (not the same thing as introverted). For about the past month we've been staring at each other a lot, but he has never put any effort into starting a conversation with me. I've seen him talk to other people before (both male and female, but mostly male), and he seems fine and comfortable. When he is around me, he doesn't seem as comfortable. He's shy and awkward. It's almost as if he's intimidated by me, but I doubt it. (I am a year older than him, but that doesn't really matter). He always looks at me with this sad and strange look. I usually see him alone. He has friends, but not many. Sort of like me. But when he's with his friends, you can tell that they're not that close. He's kind of a loner.

We've sort of talked before, but not really. I've just approached him and we introduced ourselves, but that was about a month ago. He always looks at me, and at first I thought maybe I was just being ridiculous and I only thought that he was staring at me because it's what I want to think, but my friend started watching him when I wasn't looking at him, and she said that she sees him staring at me "hard" and in a "super obvious" way. It was pretty comforting and assuring to hear that it's not only me, and that I'm not just imagining this. I've already approached him a couple of times, in small ways. I'm just afraid that he'll think I'm weird if I keep going after him. If he didn't look at me so much then I wouldn't at all think that he likes me. I've also been focusing on his body language because I've heard that with guys, it's important to pay attention to body language, rather than facial expressions, and I've noticed that he mirrors my body language a lot (I'll do particular things on purpose, and I'll see him subconsciously copy me), and he also often has his body facing me, which are supposed to be positive things. But maybe I'm just overthinking this.

But he's not doing anything, and it doesn't look as if he's planning on approaching me. I have noticed that if I stop staring at him, he stares even more at me. It's as if the less interested I look in him, the more interested he is in me. This is what's been happening more recently.

So, anyway, my real question: should I continue going after him, wait for him to talk to me, or just give up on him? I'm super shy, so all of this has really been a huge step out of my comfort zone.

Everytime when a guy that I consider as friend suddenly has the will to turn our friendship to something more-than-friends, I feel disgusted even by thinking of it. Of course, I've had crushes on many people, but these never last for more than a week. And some times, the people I had a crush on may eventually want me to be his girlfriend, but things never worked out since I knew the crush was gone. And knowing about there are some guys that I do not have feelings with have the feelings and expect more for me makes me really uncomfortable.

I only have one crush that lasted. Let's call him T. He was the guy sitting behind me in 6th grade.

He was the popular kid and a lot of girls liked to hang around him. I always wanted to be one of those girls, however, I had to make myself believe that he hated me cuz he never looked at me in the eyes and avoided all conversations with me. I thought we could be close cuz our seats were so close, but nah...
I've only learnt that he really liked me till I've moved to another country a year later. He told me he was just too shy and that was why he was avoiding me.. He felt relaxed and comfortable with all the other girls, but stutters everytime he tried to talk with me.
We've made overseas phone calls a lot and chated with each other and I knew that he always had something for me, until high school.
For the second time, he started to avoid me, but for the completely different reason.
At first, there was a girl added my facebook. I had no idea who she was but accepted the request because I saw that she and T go to the same high school and I later found out that she was his girlfriend. Long story short. Although T moved on, I did not blame him for anything since it has been so many years.

I highly suspect that i still have a thing for him even though it has been six years otherwise i should've moved on. My endless feelings for T may be an illusion, but not being able to like other guys is really a problem. Can anybody help me?
