I have recently gotten my first boyfriend. And I'll admit, I'm very girly. pretty shy as well, and I also HATE being in control. My boyfriend is very much a mans man though, and likes being in charge. But I keep thinking that there seems to be more on him then on me, and I don't know how to make it fair.
like according to him, it's the mans job to pay for things. (though sometimes I do manage to like sneak it in so I pay), but it's also usually on him to decide what we do when we hang out, and when he picks me up from work sometimes he comes inside the building to get me. He did mention that it's partially because if he doesn't he knows he'll look like a jackass, however if that were switched and I picked him up, I could wait in the car and no one would bat an eye.
It's even to the point where whenever I start crying or something or am upset about anything, he gets mad. But he doesn't cry! Like I RARELY get angry, when I get upset it's right to sadness and all that. But no, he just gets mad. He said guys are expected to be tough.
Also he calls me "babe" a lot. I rarely call him by a pet name, but when I pointed it out he just kinda went "it's part of being a guy" And I was like "how is that fair?" kinda thing. But I've got other examples.

Is more expected of men in relationships than is expected of women?

I have a few friends who never wear makeup, bite their nails and essentially fart and stuff around their boyfriends. I do not mean to be judgmental but to me that seems absurd. I am not very high maintenance but I am very girly- I like to make sure my hair and nails and everything looks nice and I wear dresses and plan out my outfits and wear perfume etc and would never fart around my boyfriend it just doesn't seem very feminine to me and it would feel like a hugeee turn off. Oh and to add to it they are not masculine in shape... like they still might wear dresses every once in awhile but 9/10 times no.

Anyways what are your thoughts boys?

eye colour: greenish-brown (hazel)
hair colour: medium/dark brown with some tints of red (i was born a redhead but later turned into a brunette cuz of puberty)
weight: 48.5kg or 106/107 pounds (yes this is my actual weight because I'm so short)
interests: figure skating, baseball, snowboarding, gymnastics, volleyball, skateboarding
style: casual (nothing fancy ever because i don't like dressing super girly/dressy all the time)

please also dont tell me "some guy out there will like you" or anything similar. just looking for some answers that have to do with this question haha :)

I often stay at his place and he is nagging me about how I turned his apartment into a girly place. OK, I admit I leave (forget) some stuff in there like hair bands, jewelry, a few panties, and a pink mirror (which he got mad over it and created a fight)

Is it such a big deal to guys?
