My boyfriend and I have dated for 2 years. We’ve only broken up once, during the time span when we were dating for just a couple of months. He slept with his ex, when he was single and neither one of us thought we’d ever get back together. So when we did, the ex told me everything but regardless I chose to stay with him because I loved him and understood that while I was angry, we were both single at the time. He told me he would never talk to her again. Anyhow it’s been two years since they had the fling, and she’s been following his Instagram page for a long time but never likes anything and he doesn’t follow her back. Out of the blue yesterday, she liked a photo he posted. Not a selfie, or even a picture of himself but a photo of my dads classic car.

I told him it would be cool if he blocked her as she’s caused problems in the past and he said it wouldn’t that I should just move on and that she doesn’t hit him up because he “has nothing good to say to her,” and to not let it bother me. He also said they haven’t talked at all, and that I “got weird as soon as I saw the bitch liked the pic.” Now it might just be me trippin, but I did move out recently and I’m worried she’s gonna try to call him or something. Am I just being paranoid? Or am I worrying for a good reason? My boyfriend got all mad because he felt like I didn’t trust him either, but don’t I have the right to be upset? I understand this was beyond his control her liking it, but she swore she hated him?

There's this guy I know, lets call him James. We've always got along very well with James and if I ever need a helping hand I know I can ask him (I rarely do ask him and he also knows how to say no).

When I was still just casually seeing my ex (who turned out to be an ass), James was always trying to get my attention and get me to spend time with him rather than my ex and he pulled all these tricks to sabotage what ever was between me and the ex back then. Yet he never said a bad word about him to me.

Lately I've been spending time with one of his best friends and James has again started making himself more a part of my life. He seems to want to hang around me asks me to different events and is super happy to see me and always asks my friends about me and is telling them to say hi to me for him. He's started liking most of my social media posts and so on and so forth.

What I'm wondering is: Is he
a) Happy that I'm seeing his best friend or
b) Glad that I'm "taken" so he doesn't have to worry about me being interested in him
c) Figuring he might have a chance too if his nerd friend does, so getting closer to me or
d) Jealous and trying to get in between
