There's sort of four options:

Option 1: My best friend has been flirting with me a ton lately and I don't know if he's just lonely or if he actually likes me. I like him but have been holding back in fear of losing our friendship, so option 1 is to ask him to be a romantic sort of date.

Option 2: Ask my best friend, but just as friends.

Option 3: I ask a different guy friend to be a platonic date.

Option 4: I go completely dateless and just go with some girl friends. (I would personally prefer to have a date but I will still put this on here)

Or homecoming? How would you do it (would you go all out with a sign and balloons or flowers, or just ask verbally?) please note I don’t mean on a date. Just to prom or hoco specifically. And under what circumstances would you give up on him asking you out and just ask him out instead?

Please don’t give me tips or whatever. I just need those three questions answered.
