Most of us have been through a break up and later felt an urge to reconcile. Often, that happens because of loneliness ("a bad relationship is better than no relationship") and, unless it was a horribly destructive relationship, many of us tend to forget or minimize the bad aspects of the relationship. We want to bring back the good times and we just don't think about the bad times that went along with the good times.

If you are considering reconciling with an ex, the prevailing wisdom is "don't do it!" (unless your break up was caused by something that did not reflect on the quality of the relationship, like you started college and were 800 miles apart for four years.) Is the prevailing wisdom right? Is it a bad idea? What was your experience if you ever tried to reconcile with an ex?

So here is the situation. you're angry at your boyfriend, you live together. The home is owned by him, his property, you pay nothing for it. the bed is owned by him, you did not pay for it. You have decided to kick him out of his own bed.. Is this acceptable?

I think it is not. In my own situation i have been married 5 years, and have lived with my wife for 7. She has never been in a situation where she felt the need to kick me out of my own bed, or even out of my own home the entire time we were together. I asked her this same question and her response is that it is petty, she also felt it would be bad for the both of us seeing as i am the one that works and need my sleep more than she does. That if i made her angry enough to not want to sleep next to me, she would be the one on the couch and not me. She has never done this by the way, i just dont make her that angry. Id rather work things out personally and i have always believed that we should never go to bed angry.

I had an ex that tried to kick me out of my own bed, she had been living with me for about 6 months.. And she ended up that night kicked out of my home in the middle of winter and told she could come back when she grew up. Suffice it to say i broke up with her the next day.
