I also feel like I'm an annoyance to others I've tried reaching out multiple times with different people but 98 percent of the time I'm ignored or flaked... it's just kills my self confidence. I'm just like anyone else with normal interests love humor and a good book preferably poetry... yes I have quirks but who doesn't? It seems like people don't want to make the time to know me to even see my flaws. I've been getting depressed about it. For instance I went through a miscarriage awhile back and when I reached out to q friend who was wanting to hang out with me for several months I thought she would mutually respond but I got ignored (not the first time) but in person she acted like she cared so much. I understand people have lives and are busy but guess what she still makes time for social media and her other friends. I didn't have anyone to cry to at my darkest times. I'm just about to give up on friendships..

There's this guy I am interested in and I flaked on the past few dates (3 consecutive dates to be exact and when he offered other dates, I rejected them) we set up due to life getting in the way. Days leading up those dates (that never happened), he would check in to see how I'm doing.

So long story short, I sprang the news that I'm going away to another continent for a bit. I think he was taken aback and might think I was playing him. I did clarify it was temporary and i'd like to pick things up right where we left off. We left things on a good note.

I shot him a text after almost 1 month since we last spoke and asked him how he was doing. I realised my actions likely came off as uninterested. He told me he was so happy that I messaged him.

Was that because he was unsure of my interest towards him but my message shows him I still am? When someone says that, was he also hoping that i'd message him?
