I've always felt sort of "fortunate" that I am a female homosexual, rather than a male one, ever since I became cognizant of my attraction--during the onset of puberty. Both has negative stereotypes placed on them, like flower-boyish or tomboyish, mainly due to the media. However, men, in general, are expected to always be unfeeling, to bottle up their emotions, and definitely not to compliment the same-sex.

There are noticeably fewer restrictions on girls, and they have the privilege of hugging other girls, calling each other "pretty" or "on fleek (perfect)," and etc. I would often find myself becoming enchanted by another girl yet don't have to worry about being called "gay" for staring at her. Even if a guy looks at another guy for five seconds, there would already be a problem.

Plus, I am a naturally jubilant kind of person. I can't help but giggle or blush when other girls are around; most of them just think that I'm "childish" and nothing more. I also don't "act" like how some people may think lesbians behave, as in I'm not "masculine." Once again, everyone remains oblivious simply because they think it's "cute" for girls to be shy around boys. I even inform my peers that I don't plan on wedding nor dating, and they think it's because I'm just too innocent.

I can't imagine the taunting a guy would receive if he said "I'm scared of girls" or "No, I don't want a girlfriend." From my demeanor, most people just assume that I'm a timid girl who acts weird around other girls because she doesn't know how to talk with people. Partially true.

A) the moment I met him, I knew he was a keeper. I feel totally understood by him, and he completely understands me. He's so spectacular, and I feel like my best self when I'm with him. Everything is better with him. Usually my brain runs 100 mph, but when I'm with him I think clearer. The best part is that i feel completely and entirely ok with him

B) when I'm with him, I never have to explain myself and I feel like I get him. I understand him. He gets me. When I'm with him, I can't stop smiling. We have similar values. He's super shy, but I'm one of the only people whom he trusts. I get him to come out of his shell. And the top guy is great, but I have a far greater physical attraction to this one. Another thing, we balance each other out. I feel more down-to earth with him. He mellows me out.
