Apparently it's a sign of trust.

If you start with the simple premise that Trump only took office to enact policy changes to further his wealth and power no matter what the cost, then everything that has happened through the last 6 years when all the "fake news" started splitting the country makes perfect sense. Why else did Russia support and interfere with the first election and by the next he lost all support? How was he able to get middle east countries that haven't signed treaties under so many presidents to sign? Since their chief export is oil the Paris Climate accord would have destroyed them, Is that the real reason we became the ONLY NATION IN THE WORLD to not partake? Why else would he be the only leader in the world to not shut the country down when COVID hit and ignore the countless experts worldwide advice unless it was because he didn't want to slow the economy down and thus his own income? Considering he had parts in over 500 businesses worldwide in industries ranging from realty to media outlets, how do we know he hasn't been behind the fake news all along to increase distrust in politics and gain and keep support? Which since he only isolated his businesses and presidency with a REVOCABLE trust, how do we know that once out of office he won't assume control of his empire and the trillion dollars he made the billionaires during his administration? He has a long standing reputation and track record of wanting more and more power and money and has certainly done things questionably in regards to the best for the American people. There was more but limited to what I can put so these are the highlights. But if it turns out that his entire presidency was a lie and he used his business and political contacts to buy the office for his own personal greed, resulting in many preventable COVID deaths. What do you think the result would be when the world found out the highest office in government can be breached so easily. Do you think the US government would survive?

So, I have been with my girlfriend for a long time. About 5 1/2 years.

Early in the relationship (around the 3 month mark) she lied to me about her ex texting her. It happened while I think I was looking at her phone whike she wrote a note. I didn't see what it said. She lied and said it was her female roommate that texted her (Completely different names). I gave her about a dozen chances to tell the truth. Finally I told her I already knew and saw. She admitted she got a text from him, but it that she isn't doing anything, he just tries to text her sometimes, and since I had a friend/family member dying of Cancer at the time (R. I. P. Joe Basara), she didn't want me to worry and overthink.

There have been a few more small lies, omissions of truth, and more over the years, but I legitimately believe she loves me. We have been with each other through some of our more difficult times thus far, and she's a very emotionally feeling person. She loves animals, she can't handle people or animals being hurt without bursting into tears, etc.

But I still don't trust her completely. I haven't trusted her since that day when she proved she could lie right to my face. We have been long distance for about 3 years (Her family moved and we weren't equipped to move in together at the time), so I wouldn't even know if anything was going on.

She also lied about the state of her coworker's marriage. She claims she didn't know, but they were in a really bad place and about to divorce. She showed me her texts to make me feel better, and while he definitely talked about the marriage being in a bad spot, there didn't seem to be signs of anything more than him mentioning it and just being an acquaintance. Messages likely weren't deleted.

How can I trust her again? Should I?
