I applied for a lead engineering position for a mass digital printing company. They design and put up all those huge billboards and pictures on the sides of building that include sectional LED lighting and some other cool stuff.

I would have been in charge of a 14 man team and we'd be designing the framework and structure behind everything. I went in for the interview and killed it. They really liked all my answers and they laughed at all my jokes.

Then they brought me upstairs and tested me with the software they're using and I had never been taught to use the feature they were utilizing in this software. Absolutely bombed the test for that reason. I sent them this email, and I'm not sure if it's too pushy. I asked one of the other lead engineer's if I could send them a portfolio and he said yes, and to send it to their HR.

"Hey Stephanie. Below I've attached a link to one of my Assembly's so that the team can see that I'm capable. I'd really appreciate it if you could send this to them. Like I stated before I took off, I've never been taught how to do weldment assemblies in that way, so I feel like I didn't really get to showcase my knowledge with the software. If it's a possibility, and not too much of an inconvenience, I could self teach myself all of this today, and retake the test again and knock it out. If not, I completely understand. Thank you for taking the time to consider me for this position. It was a pleasure meeting you and the rest of the team. "

The pay is ridiculously high so I really want this job. Not sure if I just call the quits at this point lol. I just know it would only take me a day to learn their way of doing things.
