I'm almost 25 and I'm going to college and living with people who are much younger than me. I did four years in the military after high school and did a couple other things after. Now I'm in college as a second year student and I'm actually becoming lonely as hell because I feel like I'm too old to date these younger girls. I can get sex from dating apps but I can't really find a girl to spend time with and actually connect with. A lot of them are just plain annoying to me and that's not me just being picky. I really do and try and give everyone a chance.

I just feel like I'm so out of place here and I also feel like I automatically stand out as the older guy. It's frustrating because I feel like I would have more luck if I was associating myself with people my age so that I can relate better. I can't really do that in college because all the people my age are already done.

It's been eating at my self-confidence lately and I'm generally a really confident person so that says a lot coming from me.

Girls, do you realize you are pickier than guys? Most girls want a guy who is more attractive, tall, smart, fit, rich, outgoing, talented than them. This is proved by multiple experiments. On dating sites, for example, an average guy will be lucky if he gets at least one match. An ugly guy won't get any. But the ugliest girl (pig girl experiment) got lots of messages by guys who are much better than her. Fat girls won't settle for a guy who is fat like themselves. 90% of girls won't settle for a guy shorter than 6 feet.

That said, do you girls realize that your standards are much higher than those of guys? This includes standards regarding looks. I don't blame you for not being attracted to guys that don't meet your standards, but do you at least realize that you are much pickier than guys? And could you please stop calling guys shallow when you are 100 times as shallow?
