Recently I found out my now ex girlfriend of 4 years cheated on me by asking another guy out. We were together for a little over 4 years (all through high school and the first semester of college) and we were in love. We still had our occasional ups and downs, but everything always worked itself out and nothing was ever to major. Throughout our relationship she would consistently lie to me and promise that she wouldn't do it again. These lies ranged from stupid trivial things that wouldn't even make sense to lie about to things that were much more serious. I always stressed to her that trust and loyalty were fundamental to a happy, healthy relationship. Our relationship quickly dissolved after she cheated on me. At first I blamed myself and went through about 3 months of depression... it was the darkest, loneliest place I've ever experienced. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone, not even my worst enemy. However, things improved tremendously for me once I started talking to other very beautiful and sincere girls. I restored my confidence in myself and what I stand for after hooking up around 10 times with 2 different girls (both of which were models). My psyche was never better at this time. My ex entered into a serious bout of depression whenever I was almost fully recovered from my own depression. Unlike her, I stayed by her side and told her that everything would be okay in the long run, and that she would feel better with time. She was indifferent to me when I tried reaching out for help during my depression. I felt it was my duty after spending 4 years together to make sure she would be okay. Its common human decency and the right thing to do, right? Anyways, she got herself a new boyfriend and did a 180 on me. After supporting her she decided to rub it in my face that she had gotten a new boyfriend (he clearly isn't on the same level as me, so jealousy isn't an issue). I want closure and requested one call with her before ending the toxic relationship. Am I doing the right thing?

My friend is getting married this month (maybe in the next week, Idk), and instead of being really happy for him, I just feel really jealous.

For starters, I am 23 and never had a girlfriend. If and when I meet my potential spouse, we can never say we met when we were young.

For example, my friend met his fiance while in college. They got experience their youth together while they were pretty much "kids". That makes their relationship extra special, and they can reflect upon that and it is sweet.

Second, I think I am just lonely as hell. I want that companionship too, although, I feel it will not be as special because me and a woman cannot say we met when we were young.
