My SO's memories of his childhood and teenage years (up until 17) are a complete blur.

This makes me really worried about him, and I also feel like I'll never really truly know him. I noticed when I share my childhood memories, he has nothing. That's when I asked him why he never shared his past with me... and that's when he told me he genuinely can't remember.

He got really upset when he told me this. He also says he feels like a part of him is 'missing' and I wonder if that feeling has anything to do with lack of memories.

I worry something bad happened when he was young, and he subconsciously blocked everything out.

Is it all normal to have no childhood memories?

I’m a straight girl and so is my family friend, who is around my age. We had good childhood memories, have been family friends since we were around four years old, sometimes (but RARELY) have solid conversations (I’ll get to why in a moment). I know her siblings and parents, and our families visit each other once in a while. Why I don’t like her: every. Single. Time we go somewhere (someone else’s house, graduation parties, birthday parties, etc.) she complains that she wants to go home to her mom, whiny-annoyed-tone-of-voice with scoffs and everything. Like she’s having a tantrum. She says “can we GO now? Hurry up! I want to leave! I’m so bored” every few minutes. She’s always on her phone, the whole entire time there are get-togethers. She doesn’t take her face off the screen. We used to be good friends, but she changed, and I don’t like her anymore. Wrong or not? And why?
