I'm in college and I have a crush on a guy who I think likes me too, however, I think he's waiting to ask me out until he gets more of a confirmation that I like him, but I'm not sure how to show him that without telling him outright. I'm a talkative person so I think he sees me talking to other guys and that makes him question whether I talk to him because I like him or because I'm being friendly.
However, around him, I get super shy and I think he gets shy around me too so we don't talk as much as I'd like. Are there any flirting techniques that make it super obvious a girl likes you or should I do one of the things listed in the poll?

My boyfriend and I were sitting next to each other with our phones and a message popped up on mine from a group of girls that were trying to organise a hiking trip. My guy asked casually who I was chatting to and so I told him, he wasn't controlling or anything just curious cause the phone kept going off every few seconds

I said to him out of curiosity just because I'm nosey lol - Who was the last person you messaged with other than me?

He said Melissa. (Melissa is an ex girlfriend who he was only with for 2 months about 2 years ago. They stayed friends since then as she had supported him with some personal issues he was having back then, so I can understand why he has kept a friendship with this particular ex.)

They never meet up physically and only message each other every now and then. He showed me because he must have sensed that I was feeling a little uneasy. I could see they only message each other a few times every few weeks and their is absolutely no flirting going on. She knows about me and he has asked her to come over with her kids for a BBQ and to meet me so there are no secrets floating about.

When he said he last messaged Melissa I casually asked how she was, he said she is okay, going through a little bit of a hard time and he passed me the phone and said to read the messages so I did. She drives trucks for a job and there were messages about how she had recently had a truck accident and was out of a job, feeling a little depressed and now has to go to court for it. He messaged to her that there may be an opening for a truck driver job at his work and that he would try and help her get in at his work.

I did ask him if why he felt he needed to help her and he said she is a friend, I'm just being nice. I asked if he still had any feelings for her and he said NO and then I asked if she got a job there they would be seeing each other every day at work, is there a risk of them becoming close again, he said NO. Should I be worried

Some guys do it to get a girl's attention so I know why they do it but I wonder if they purposely chose a certain type of girl as their flirt target.

Guys who have girlfriends also do this but Do y'all pick just any pretty girl, friend, enemy, unattractive, flirty personality, promiscuous reputation, or is it for her hot body?



For clarification my definitions of possible pickings are:

A pretty girl = one you deem facially attractive
A flirty girl = one who can carry on witty banter
A hot girl= one you deem has a hot body
An unattractive girl=one you subjectively deem
A friend of the girl = possibly her best friend
An enemy = girls clearly don't get along
A promiscuous girl = one who has reputation to follow through physically when you flirt with her aka easy to get into bed with
