Should people who commit heinous sexual crimes be castrated? You hear people say things along these lines whenever the topic of their punishment is brought up, but it isn't actually a thing.

Should it be?

The argument made is that by taking away the source of their sex drive and therefore perversion, you nullify any risk of them reoffending going forward. This would greatly increase chances of rehabilitation, which is the best case scenario when prosecuting someone.

For men it would likely be permanent damage to or removal of the testicles, and the same for the clitoris on women. The penis on men and more invasive surgeries on women have too much risk for complication, whereas those are shockingly simple.

Are people on the whole for or against this type of punishment? Do you believe it is justified, or borderline barbaric?

Or would you rather stay a man, but you're short (under six feet), overweight, very unhealthy, ugly, have a small penis, have some kind of non-debilitating medical condition (diabetes, low blood sugar, etc.), and can barely pay the bills every month or homeless, but you're still a man.
