My daughter is a senior in high school. She doesn't drive or have a job so I'm still paying for everything, which is fine. I told her at the beginning of the school year if she wants to do musical (rehearsals started in December and the musical was performed 2 weeks ago) she has to be able to drive ) she has her permit, she just refuses to go out and learn how to drive). My daughter wants to audition for show choir, March 28th. I am off of work that day so I have no problem picking her up. However, their rehearsal schedule appears to be every Monday and Wednesday from 3pm-5pm sometimes 6pm and sometimes on saturdays from 10am-4pm. I work night shifts 7p-7a and live about an hour and a half away from work. My daughter wakes me up at 5pm and I'm out of the house by 5:20pm. I usually work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Sometimes its Wednesday, Thursday Friday. Or Monday and Thursday. My husband doesn't get home until after 7pm. She said none of her friends are auditioning for show choir but she still wants to do it. It's 90s and early 00s songs this year. The audition piece is a medley of Opposites Attract, Rythmn Nation, Cmon N Ride It, Groove Is in the heart and Bye Bye Bye. My daughters grades have also been slipping this past 9 weeks, she is currently failing 3 out of 5 classes and the other two are low D's. I also bought her an expensive prom dress and ticket. She also went on a getaway with friends for her birthday weekend back in January, which was expensive. The cost of show choir is $100, which again isn't a problem. I just dont know if I should let her join it or not?

My prom is April 7th. I have looked at several bridal stores and designer dress stores. I really dont like anything that has lace, sequins, rhinestones, poofy ball gown ish, has flowers. I don't want a two piece either. I also don't feel like spending a fortune on a dress for one night! I have a black dress and a pink dress that are similar to these pictures and i've worn them to homecoming (the pink dress doesn't have a slit like that and has straps but its the same length). I really don't like any of the prom dresses that I have seen and tried on, i've went to around 9 stores already. My friends are telling me I have to have a prom dress for prom. My friends dresses have costed well over $400 and are all glitzy, glam, some have ballgowns, mermaid bottoms, 2 pieces, all sequin etc. I am not into that. Their like its the only night you can dress up as a princess (I'm a tomboy, and i hate dresses). I'm just looking for something comfortable because I know i'll be in it for hours on end and their like your already spending $125 on the ticket and we get to eat a fancy dinner. (We are having the after prom at a rented out night club with DJ's and its gonna be extremely crowded and hot and its from like 9pm-6am). I don't really have any jewelry except chokers, and don't plan on buying any. I'm also just planning on straightening my hair and doing my own makeup. Is this a weird thing to do?
