I've been dating a guy who lives five hours away for basically a year. We've been through cycles in our communication/contact levels and we've about come full circle. It started out with seeing each other every few months and him rarely calling, but emailing within 24 hours of each other. Then he stepped it up, with the high point being frequent calls and emails and a pledge to see each other once if not more times per month. Now it has devolved back to the way it started a year ago. I've noticed that the first time he sees me after not seeing me for a while his face literally lights up and he beams. That said, why doesn't he want to see me more? Granted we live far apart but I did travel to him once and spend a long weekend at his house. Also, he seems to treat me as an option. He was going to visit me over the holidays, but he said his plans were "tentative" without saying why they weren't certain when he didn't have to ask for time off due to the holidays, so it must have been something else. Then he went days without contacting me while I sat and waited. Finally I told him that after not hearing from him, I went ahead and made other plans, which is true even though I'd rather be with him. I was hoping that my preface, "after not hearing from you" would give him a hint, but I don't think it has worked because even though he initially responded with disappointment, I haven't heard from him in a few days. Was I right to cancel our tentative plans due to his stringing me along?

A guy I just started seeing was emailing me several times a day every day till we went out. (He travels a lot for work, so we kept in touch via email.) After we went out, we texted each other a little, but nothing much. He called on his way out to his next business meeting (during the time that he had wanted to hang out with me but I was busy). I had to get off the phone, but I asked him to call/email me (and he said "Okay") then I texted him safe travels. No answer. I sent him a little email yesterday, no answer.

I know, maybe he's busy, but he's always busy... did he lose interest? One of my friends says he's probably a player and has a girl in the place where he had his business trip... :(

That seems out of character for him, but honestly, I don't know him very well yet. We've only been out the one time.

If a girl you liked just gave you her number out of the blue - without you asking at all, do you consider this the same as her asking you out?

Or do you consider it to far be less aggressive and less forward or in your face?

Btw It can be by handing it to you on a note or emailing it to you or by any other means. just as long as she gives it to you
