Search Results: he always tries to keep distance

So I’ve liked a guy at my work for a while now and I decided to text him last night even though we’ve never talked before. I just said hey. Well now the problem is that he hasn’t opened my message but some of my coworkers told me that he is always on his phone, so it means he definitely saw my text probably in his notifications and he didn’t open it. So I don’t know what to think now because I only texted him in the first place because I was getting a strong vibe that he was into me but maybe unsure/shy about making the first move so I did it for him. I thought he was into me because I kept noticing him glancing over at me repeatedly, I’ve caught him staring at me and he awkwardly looks away, my friends have told me he turns and looks specifically at me and also that one time he was staring at me for almost a whole minute and I didn’t notice because I was busy with something else. He also tries to get my attention frequently, like he will talk really loudly, walk in front of me a lot, and just try to bring attention to himself. There’s also been times that he has made eye contact with me and smiled while holding the eye contact for 2-3 seconds. We also always seem to catch each other’s eye eye from a distance. His closest friend at work has also approached me multiple times to try to talk to me and be friendly with me/tease me. So I don’t think I’m wrong in assuming he’s interested but I don’t get why he hasn’t texted back or even opened my message yet? But what do you guys think?

My crush keeps doing things to get my attention like he keeps walking past in front or standing in front of me multiple times (I know it’s me because wherever I stand he always finds a way to walk past where I’m at, and many times), sometimes will come and stand in my way so I have to brush past him, keep showing up where I am or sometimes he’s even be super loud around me. But the thing is that he never really looks at me when he does this, I know he sees me and all through this peripheral but he avoids all eye contact and even looking at me up close. He still will make eye contact with me from a distance though. Why is he doing this?
