I rescued my cat as a kitten a few years ago - he was about 4 months old and put in a bin bag. We rescued him, had him checked out and nobody ever claimed him. He's about 4 years old now.

So... Given my cats age he sort of adopted me as his mum. And that's fine. But the past few years I've become more and more depressed.

The past few weeks he has been sleeping in bed with me all day (I've been working from bed).

Past couple of days he has been started to wake up meowing like he is in pain until he can see me and touch me. We think he's been having bad dreams.
Do you think he is picking up on my feelings?

I had someone try to steal my black cat this Friday before Halloween. I came up and yelled at them that it was my cat but they wouldn't listen to me. The man was chasing my cat trying to catch him and the woman in the car claimed it was their cat. I got a really bad feeling about the whole thing. I kept repeating that it was my cat and i'd never seen the car they had in the neighborhood. When the man finally realized my cat wouldn't go to him he ran to the car and they drove off without a word or any apology. He didn't even trying calling "their" cat's supposed name. You'd think they would have apologized, realizing it wasn't their cat then maybe asked me to keep an eye out if I saw a cat that might be their's. That night my cat went missing and has been gone since then. He didn't come home Friday night and he always comes back. He wakes me up every morning in my bed. I'm devestated and I just want my cat back. I'm not sure that those people took him, but I just have a terrible feeling. He rarely leaves the vicinity of our home. I'm scared of what's happened to him. I don't know if they wanted him for decoration for a Halloween party (yes, apparently this happens) or something worse. I'm getting sick thinking about it.
