I keep hearing over and over again that guys fear making a move because they are afraid of rejection. My hypothesis is that this is a load of bull.

I've been shy at some point, scared at other points, and self-loathing yet other times in my own history, as I'm sure any of you have. But fearing the word "no" really hasn't been an issue, because at least "no" is an answer. Not making a move is a guaranteed "no", and I think most guys out there know that.

According to my understanding of myself and men around be, the main fear is being offensive and/or creepy.

-Religion teaches us that our sexuality is our impurity. And therefore expressing interest is introducing some sort of evil.

-Feminism teaches us that most forms of expressing or feeling attraction are objectifying and degrading.

-Film and media teach us that while female sexuality is prized and cherished, male sexuality is slimy and even criminal.

I still have yet to meet a guy who fears rejection. Most of they guys I know probably feel like they're walking on eggshells, because what used to be a simple compliment is now easily skewed into unwanted attention.

But again, I could be wrong. So I would like you hear what you have to say.

(And girls, this may highlight the importance of YOU making a move more. Guys aren't easily offended by these things, so making a move is less constricting than expecting a guy to do it, but then freaking out about them doing it wrong.)

Daddy issues = a girl having a subpar relationship with her father (abusive to her, absent, alcoholic or drug addict, witnessed him abuse her mom or other ppl)

U hear guys and girls talk a lot about a girl having "daddy issues" and how it impacts their choices in guys, and their behavior about sexuality, dating, relationships, marriage, having children, and how they parent...

...for the negative rather the positive.

Do you think the effects of a girl having a negative father figure is over-exaggerated by people, or do you think a female having a negative father figure (or lack thereof) is truly THAT impactful in her relations with men?
