Met a guy and we hit it off - SO DRAWN TO EACH OTHER! But, he kept me at a distance, letting me in then backing away, for 2 months now. We just talked, until Saturday night. We bumped into each other and he really wanted to make sure I got home safe. He brought me to his place for the night, then took me home in the morning. We never had sex or even kissed, but he chose to cuddle me. And, he chose to kiss my cheek goodbye, which he doesn't do with just friends. Then, Monday, I get this email from him...

My ex has been in school in boston for the past two school years; we were doing long-distance until the fall when we decided to break it off. Lately she's been telling me that she's applying for jobs in SF (along with Portland and Seattle), and we hung out when I was in Boston a couple of weeks ago. I don't really know what's going to happen with that situation to be honest, there were problems that I'm not sure her being here would solve, even though I don't know if she is actually coming back at this point. In some ways it feels like she is toying with me, although she most likely just doesn't know what she wants either.

Anyway, this is all probably TMI, but I just wanted to explain why things didn't progress yesterday or why I might come off as cool or aloof (well, more so than normal). I just thought it would be really unfair to you while I the other situation is still developing (even though it really took a lot of will power with you there so dreamlike). When we first started talking she was pretty much dead-set on staying in boston, so I felt it might be time to move on more seriously. I guess now I dont really know what is up.

I'm really sorry I led you on in any way. I do like you, there's just a big part of me invested in that relationship and person, and while its been chipped away I can't say its not still a big chunk.
