For me, it's not that I dislike or hate pants, but I live in Florida, a super hot climate, so I'd much rather wear short shorts, short skirts, or short dresses, like the ones in the photo above...

Plus, I tan a little bit, and my legs/thighs look really nice with a tan when I show them off! I don't really want super pale legs for myself, lol. Nothing wrong with pale legs on other girls, but I want tanned legs on myself.

My girlfriend... let's call her, her nickname Luna for simplicity. She's half Black. Her skin color is like that of the two women in the pictures. Dark but not super dark. Her hair is very long. Like all the way to her butt. And its straight, because her dad was White and had straight hair. Though she looks more like her mother overall, who is Black.

She often dresses "sexy but classy." She almost never wears pants unless absolutely necessary, as we live somewhere hot, Florida. So she wears short dresses like the first girl, or short shorts like the second girl. She wears short skirts too. Her tops often have short sleeves or sleeveless, though some have flowy long sleeves. She wears crop tops sometimes too.

However, she's tall. She's 5'11. And she's quite muscular and physically strong. She looks obviously feminine, not masculine at all... but you can tell she's VERY toned.

She's very affectionate and playful, and hugs and kisses her friends and family members.

However... she also likes to uh... wrestle/play fight, lol. I'm always amazed by her strength when we wrestle! She even wrestles her own mom, it's kind of funny, lol.

She also likes to swim, weight lift, hike, go on walks, she does martial arts a little bit too, plays basketball, soccer, tennis, etc.

She sweats a lot and never wears makeup, but showers like 5 times a day because of all the working out and sweating she does.

She has little body hair to begin with, but shaves her legs and keeps them sooooo soft. And she also likes to feel sexy!

All of this being said, I can't tell if she's more of a girly girl or tomboy, lol... she seems exactly 50/50!

So I'm a lesbian, I'm 19, girlfriend is 22. She was allowed to bring guests into her office into a day, so she took me of all people, and I met her coworkers! It was an all women's office, with only women working there. The costumers also were about 70% women.

What took me by surprise though, was the length of their skirts, my girlfriend's included!

I don't know if my parents are just old or something, but I was always taught, "NEVER wear skirts above the knee in an office setting! It's VERY unprofessional!"

But there my girlfriend and her coworkers were... the LONGEST length was C, which is already ABOVE the knee. But most of the women there wore shorter lengths than that. D and E seemed to be by far the most common lengths, with E being slightly more common. And some women even went close to F... not EXACTLY F, but close.

My girlfriend herself had on E. Well above her knees. I asked her if it was a casual day, and she said no, this is how they ALWAYS dress.

They all looked great! Not unprofessional at all. And besides showing a good amount of leg, the upper body was 100% covered, as expected in an office setting.

Maybe it has to do with the office being women's only, and not having to worry about sexual harassment as much. Or how the boss is just super chill/kind.

But the customers there usually don't see the employee's skirt length anyway, as the office is full of desk jobs they're behind... they only see their skirt length if they get up to show a customer something.

If this is generally acceptable though, I might as well go ahead and buy a couple of nice office skirts that are E length, just like my girlfriend's! 4 inches above the knee, I'd assume.

I don't really like pants most of the time as I live in a hot climate, but when the weather gets cold enough I don't mind wearing pants.

One of my friends though literally NEVER wears pants. She's always in short shorts, or some type of short skirt or dress. Always bare legs basically. The other day I was like, "It's really, really cold today... ya sure you don't wanna put on some pants?" And she flinched and got visually startled, almost jumping back, at the mere suggestion of pants... wow.

I asked her why, and at first she said she'd rather not talk about it, but later on she said that though she barely gets cold on her legs, her mom used to punish her as a kid by making her wear jeans at the beach when she was bad. And since she was so used to being in a bathing suit at the beach, this was incredibly suffocating for her, almost like a prison of some sort. So she basically associates pants with that trauma.

But I'm wondering how common it is for girls to hate pants like this... not for the EXACT same reason as her, obviously, as that's an odd case... but in general, is it common or relatively common for a girl to DESPISE pants like this?

As a girl most of my friends are female, but I feel this'd be an odd topic to bring up, so I'm asking here.
