I always got the very clear impression my mother wanted a daughter instead of me, and that she never loved me.

Also, my mother once kicked me out of a car and left me by the side of the road, then drove away (I was about 12 I think). She woke me up in the morning to scream at me that I was worthless. She told me no son had ever been as bad to his mother as I was. Laughed at me and discouraged me from most things I was ever proud of (writing stories, writing songs, writing poems, doing karate), and kept me on ritalin for 6 years in order to make me behave, which caused severe side effects, such as depression anxiety and paranoia.

Am I over-reacting? I mean she wasn't ALWAYS like that. I'm sure there were good times too (although I can't remember many).

Did other people's Mom's do things like this or was I raised by some kind of psycho?
