Search Results: getting into college parents

I'm a bit socially awkward and don't have much experience interacting with peopleoutside of my family. Any opinions would be appreciated. I go for at least 1 walk a day, a mile down the road and a mile back. Yesterday Iwas pushing my niece in a stroller andmet 2 guys headed the same direction. They asked if Ihappened to know someone, I didn't but we talked for a bit. They introduced themselves, told me where they lived, asked if I has just moved out here b/c they hadn't seen me before, asked if my niece was my daughter, let her pet their dog, asked how old I was and whether I had a boyfriend. More small talk ensued. They left to ask someone pulling up at a mailbox if he could help them so I continued on my walk. They caught up with me outside their house and wished me a wonderful day. Later, I went for a 2nd walk with my niece and ran into them at the end of my route. They asked what I liked doing for fun, invited me to a bonfire at their parent's house, asked if I went to college/worked, told me more about themselves, asked if I was interested in guys at all etc. They said they thought I had maybe gone on another walk to see them again. I politely declined their invitation and we parted ways again. Today I went for my 2nd walk and they were outside with the one guy's sister. He asked if my niece wanted to pet the rabbits and I said sure. I've talked to his sister before and she's pet our dogs and such. Talked with all of them while my niece was petting the rabbits. Somehow birthdays came up and it turns out mine is the same day as the one guy's. He jokingly (think it was ajoke) said it was fate that we should just start dating. I just laughed it off. Told them I should be getting back and the guy asked for a hug? I found it a bit strange but said sure, then hugged the other guy when he asked. They were quick, 3 sec back pat hugs with little touching. Not sure if hugs weird? I wasn't worried or anything during all ofthis as there were other people outside around us.

I'm in a really sticky situation in my life right now. My parents were recently divorced, and my dad moved away to Nevada to get closer to his job and avoid getting fired. I love him so much, and I wish I could be with him every day. I currently live with my mother in Florida, and I can't stand it. I've lived in the same place all my life and I just want to get out and meet new people and see new places. I have the choice to go move with my dad next year.. Honestly I think I just might. My mother is abusive towards me, always putting me down and stealing my things, hitting me, yelling, lying, etc. I can’t stand it. But I’m not entirely sure I want to leave. If I did move, I’m afraid of how she would treat me. I can’t avoid her finding out, as I would have to pack and everything.. But I’m so afraid of the thought of her screaming at me and hitting me. I don’t want it. I also go to one of the best schools in the country- so leaving here would be a big step downwards and bad for my chances of getting into a nice college like I want. Not to mention I would have to leave all my lifelong friends and start a new life with strangers all the way across the country. I’m so scared of what will happen if I go.. But I really really don’t want to stay. I can’t make a decision, and while I’m not saying this will ultimately decide my choice, you guys might be able to provide some insight and help me make my decision in the end. Please?
