My (now ex) boyfriend and I dated for 18 months. It was a very serious relationship, we both loved each other dearly and wanted to one day marry but we are both quite insecure people. This ultimately led to the breakdown of the relationship 3/4 weeks ago. However, two weeks into the break-up, we decided we needed to sit down when I'm done with university exams and talk everything through so that we can potentially give things another go. When we spoke it was so lovely, we told each other how much we loved one another, how much we cared and that until we meet up and talk, we will stay committed.

He went to a work party last week, the night before my final exam, and said he'd be home at 11/11:30pm so that I wouldn't worry. We had been talking previously and it was all so positive, we were happy. I met up with him yesterday and he told me that he went home with a co-worker after the work party. They had sex but only for 30 seconds, he stopped it and went to sleep and at 5am he woke up to wish me luck on my exam while in the same bed as her. He also told me he went on two dates with girls from dating apps, one of the dates being two days after he had sex with his co-worker. He said nothing happened. I stuck to my word. I'm so in love with him that I couldn't even look at other guys. Does he not truly love me?

I told him my mum found out because I came home in tears and couldn't not say anything. Now he's blaming me that he had sex with that girl because the relationship made him so insecure and he won't be able to face my family. I said that I will forgive him and so will my mum, in time, if he fights for me and proves to me that he made a huge mistake but he'll do anything to be with me and make me smile. He replied saying he's tired of having to prove himself. He says I'm his dream woman so surely I'm worth the effort? Why is he backing out? It's so hard to let go because I love him more than anything. Am I an idiot for fighting for him and trying to make it work?

So my ex and I were on the verge of being together again, and I don’t really mind that we’re not but I’m kind of curious about this. Last week, we were still being sexual with each other, had intense conversation, then the next day (Friday) he told me he’d been on a date the night before with another girl and he wanted to pursue her. So he said some rude things to me, even though I said that I wouldn’t get in his way, and blocked me on every social media, except for twitter, because we really don’t use that to talk to each other. By Sunday, he was “in a relationship” again. I had posted on my Instagram about going on a date yesterday, and when I got home, I noticed I’d been blocked on twitter (I wasn’t earlier, I’d seen one of his tweets come up an hour beforehand). I’m just wondering if he told his new girlfriend he was still having sex with me just days before he met her, and if she told him to block me, or if he’s doing it on his own because he already did it everywhere else

So my ex and I have technically been broken up for months but we still slept together and talked all the time, and last week we had an intense sexual conversation and he said he wanted me back. I found out that later that night, he went on a date with some girl from tinder. The next day, he blocked me on all social media except for one (twitter, which I hardly use). And by Sunday, he’s “in a relationship” with this new girl who friends said he met earlier last week. We started dating fairly quickly too but he hadn’t been in contact with his ex at the time or having sex with other girls. Today, I posted about getting ready to go out with someone on my “spam” Instagram (like a meme of my life, the kids will know what I mean) and his brother Dad it. Last night, I hadn’t been blocked on twitter, and now all of a sudden, I am. Is he playing a game with me? And what does this mean?

This guy and I are a fantastic match as far as compatibility is concerned. We share the same sense of humour, have similar interests and on the same page in terms of morals and values. He is actually boyfriend material. Very caring and attentive also.

Date 1 was bowling. We had a great time. We were affectionate and the date ended with a kiss. Date 2 he took me on a jetboat ride and lunch afterwards, great time again.

In between these dates I wasn't really feeling that magic excitement to hurry up and see him again. I wasn't even feeling the need to text or talk everyday with him. It left me confused as to why. I did have a little bit of an attraction to him but it was just so so.

On the second date when he dropped me home, I invited him in. We got very sexy on the couch, straddling him, bit of grinding and massive make out session. I hadn't done anything like this with anyone since I broke up with my ex 4 mths ago so naturally I was getting a little excited at the thought another man was totally into me and desired me that way.

Because he wasn't actually setting me alight with his kisses I decided to sleep with him more so because I wanted to see if having sex would ignite something and whether afterwards I would feel some sort of bond or attachment. I didn't feel attachment. The sex itself was not bad.

Isn't it meant to be happy and exciting, your supposed to want to shag the shit out of that person every time you are together. Your supposed to want to chat with them daily and initiate the affection and flirting. Your supposed to want to hurry up and see them again. It was like that with my 2nd husband, I was giddy with excitement and it was like that with my ex, by the third date with my ex I was totally lost in him and wanted to be with him all the time. I compared all that to this lovely guy and it wasn't there... The actual spark with this guy has been a little lacklustre and my attitude has been just "meh". Why?
