Search Results: i need some closure

I've had strong feelings for this guy for 5 years. Even though we've lived in different towns for most of the time and I haven't seen him in 4 years, I still kept these.
At the time I met him, he gave signs of interest (would keep staring , try to be near me, kiss me on the cheek, try to hold my hand, would say things like "you're beautiful" etc) but he was taken and I didn't know if it was genuine or if it was some distraction.

Either way after we both moved to different towns I sort of kept in touch with him. He moved on with his gf, they had a kid and I was happy for him. By that time he had definitely become "NO GO" zone and I quite managed to accept the situation.

But around a year ago he tells me about how they broke up. He was the one initiating contact this time. I wanted to see him again and somehow thought he did too but no, he took a long time replying and mentioned someone new.

So here are my questions:
Did he know I liked him?:
- I was the one who kept in touch although he seemed to appreciate it
-I told him how bad it was we couldn't meet, that's when he mentioned how we didn't live that far (and understood this as we could meet someday).
-I've always kept acting as a good acquaintance, was happy for him and his relationship.
- back in the days, i would kind of push him away because he was taken and didn't know where I stood.

Should I confess to him? and if so are those good ways to do it?
even though I know he is taken, I kind of think letting him know he's on my mind could give me some closure. The thing is I don't know how to proceed. I've thought of:
- the somewhat direct way, ie "I should probably have told you this before but I miss you / can't forget you"
- the more subtle where I start explaining that I am not with my bf anymore and one reason is I couldn't get someone out of my mind)
- the rational: I am sorry, I respect your couple and choice, but I want you to know etc...

E-met a very attractive guy on a dating site (over35 yo). We seem perfect for each other and match as far as our looks are concerned. He has been divorced for 5 years but shared with me on a phone call that he still does not know why she left him and it was obvious that he still has at least SOME feelings for her that have not had any closure.

We talked for a couple hours and he told me both times I asked if he needed to be doing something else "you're fine". We hung up when he had to tend to his teenage son (very attached to him). He didn't return the call... a whole day passed and nothing. However, I was fully aware that he had his son and wanted to watch a certain ballgame that day too.

The following day, I was on the dating site and he logged in too a bit later. I waited for a while (about 40 minutes to an hour) then sent him a nice message that was a apology if I had worn out my welcome by keeping him on the phone two days prior while his son was there. Nothing more than that... and certainly not any indication that i felt one way or the another. Just a simple one line message.

Keep in mind, we exchanged phone numbers two days prior as well. His reply to me was "you're fine, I just had my son... I do not get time with him often... no worries."
We texted some small talk and he said he was going to go to bed and asked what I was planning to do. I relied that I was going to stay up and watch the National Championship football game but ended my comment with "if you want to meet and talk instead of talking on this silly thing (dating site message utility) you have my number." Told him Good Night.

One other thing to note - he told me his mom set up his profile because she keeps telling him he needs to find someone. He does log in often though. He has never initiated anything first... always me. I am the one who originally said something to him in the first place.

So... is he shy, just not that into me, or just still hung up on her?

I met this guy on a trip over a year ago, we hit it off and he pursued me despite living 2,000 miles apart. We made it as real of a relationship via long distance as possible (phone sex, watch tv together, talk/text daily). After 5 months of this our schedules worked and we met for 5 days to spend more time together.
Something just clicked and we acted like we had been together for years, everything really comfortable. I was treated like a princess. I know it scared me and I will assume it scared him as after that weekend I never heard from him again. I did write him an email to try to get some closure but never heard anything. We didn't have each other on social media so it was a clean split of no communication.

A few months ago I saw a profile show up for him in my Facebook people you may know but never added him. I had signed up a month ago for a business's social media site and I guess because we had emailed before he received an invite. Randomly he signed up and added me. I didn't think much of this but then saw he was only adding myself and family members despite being a business owner who should use site to promote work. I also saw some of his family members creeping on my page but not adding me.
I ended up deciding that if he was reaching out to add him to Facebook which he accepted immediately. I have yet to hear from him and haven't contacted him.

Not too sure what to think except that maybe he had heard that I am trying to move to the same state he lives in (for my work only).
I'm a pretty straight shooter and not too sure if I should just wait for him or message him myself. I had moved on but am now single again and I know what we had was special and don't want to ruin anything if there's a chance we'd get a clean start.

Really would love a guys thought on this.
