Okay so I'm dating a girl and I know I'm not going to marry her. We have deference of opinion on many topics. Politics, places where we want to live, kids, and life goals.

We have a good thing going we both respect each other and we clearly like one another but I don't see it going past dating.

My friend, who is single funny enough, asked what's the point in dating her if my end goal isn't marriage or a family. He said I could be missing a girl that I would have a long lasting relationship with and not even know it.

I like where I'm at I don't feel pressured and it's a simple and easy relationship.

I’m decently good looking to the point where I get approached by women on occasion.

But personally I like my own company. I focus on my own goals. I also find a lot of women backstabbers/untrustworthy which is why I abstain from relationships. Also, marriage is quite becoming unpopular these days, and I don’t want to be obligated to be with someone.

But I entertain hookups with girls that I meet that seem decent.

I was in a marriage for 4 years and got a divorce because I don't think I really ever loved her. She was my first girlfriend and I joined the military where failed young marriages are all to common. Well shortly after I started having sex with, what seemed like, a bunch of women to me. I would use them and leave them, giving one of my past friends Chlamydia. Then I met a girl on a dating app, let's say her name is Jane. Me and Jane talked all the time, she would come over and stay the night. I would come up to her work for lunch and she would come to my soccer games. Well fast forward like 2 months, I asked her where the relationship was goin, like boyfriend and girlfriend. She said that her career goals didn't fit in with my life right now and she doesn't want to be tied down. She told me that she didn't see us goin any further, I said ok and we didn't talk for a few days. Now we are talking again after she reached out to me, but she is telling about these guys she's goin on dates with and having sex with. Whenever we talk she gives me 1 to 2 word answers. I feel like I'm goin insane over here, I don't know what to do. My brother says my life is like a reality tv show but I think I might be crazy.
