Is this normal? Is my friend wasting his time hoping for something to happen?

My friend confessed his feelings for his friend. He blushed. Said nothing. Invites my friend. to hang oit more and spend more time together more often. Bit only crosses the line when drunk.
My friend is being good and not acting on the others drunk emotions.

I've considered my feelings for this guy as "just a crush" for the past 5 or so years, but I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible for a simple "crush" to last that long. Or to happen at such a young age, I mean I'm only 18 for crying out loud. I'm not close with this guy, but we're friends, I see him all the time, and I've known him for about 9 years. I feel like even though I don't know him super intimately, I have a really good feel for the type of person he is, what he enjoys, what he spends his time doing, and what he values. My dilemma has been that I can usually just brush off feelings for a guy, but he's the ONLY one I've ever not been able to move past. Could I be in love? Lol that sounds so cliché.. (also if y'all could please explain your responses, that'd be really helpful)

I find that on dating apps and in person, I attract guys that I’m not attracted to. I’ve only ever been approached by a guy I find good looking once, and people have told me that “cute” guys complimented me behind my back. Yet, they never make their “interest” known to me in person. I feel like I am cursed and/or unattractive for only attracting unattractive men. I thought I was going out yesterday with a good looking guy but he lied about his height on the dating app/ didn’t seem as muscular. I’m not asking for a male model, just someone “cute” and tall. What’s wrong with me (nothing)?
