I am feeling really iffy about him at this point.

We’ve only known each other for 1.5 months and on the 3rd date, he decided to make things official. It was way to fast but he asked me to be his girlfriend and official. Right off the batch, he wasn’t sure about the relationship because he doesn’t know me well enough. But then why he wanted to make it exclusive? And he asked me to his girlfriend. We talked it out, i asked to back out and just keep hanging out... he basically disagree wants to keep this as girlfriend boyfriend. So here we are... I feel like he threw me into being his girlfriend and then now, he’s the one unsure and acting weird.

He is not really treating this like a committed relationship. I feel more like we’re just dating and seeing each other once a week. Our communication is 99.9% through text. At this point, he only told a few friends he has a girlfriend. I have not met any of his friends. He don’t want me to meet them yet.

Since last-night 12:30am he has not been on whatsapp at all. He has not touch his phone since? We are meeting up tonight though. I have no clue what he’s doing and at this point, no trust is gain. He most of the time would send me a goodnight message but recently, when he’s out with his friends... he sometimes doesn’t and disappear until the next day. Last Sunday, we didn’t talk at all. He just went MIA until Monday.

Should I just dump him and find someone else? Is this shady? I am so confused!

My boyfriend and I have been together for only 3 weeks. We've gotten together really quick because he likes me. After a week, he asked me to be his girlfriend and we are official. The week after, he felt like things are going way to fast and he is scared! Maybe he's not pulling away but he's for sure pulling back and slowly down. My take on this is, I think something might be wrong.

He's not calling me and we rarely talk on the phone. The strange thing is, he was the one who brought up that we should talk on the phone. But, he called me twice last week by himself The other 2 times, I had to tell him to maybe give me shout if he has time. We had a conversation last weekend how I feel weird because we only text and he barely calls. He told me he tries but at his new place, the reception is basically dead. He also explain that there's not much time for him to give me a call after work. I think he's making excuses.

Seems like his goal is to see me once a week in comparison to at least 2. The first week when were together, he came to find me at least 2 times a week Now, he makes plans with friends rather than spending an extra day with me. It also seems like he has a lot of friends. I actually asked to see him on Tuesday this week, he said he got something to do. But on Tuesday, he actually only had to do a quick errand and stayed home to read a book. We are meeting up tomorrow (Sat) and he's staying overnight at my place. He told me today that on Sunday (the next day), he's going to hiking with some friends seeing the beautiful fall view. He never invited me and I never met any of his friends. He's not taking the next step to let me meet his friends. He only told 2 friends about me. The rest have no clue he has a girlfriend or even seeing someone. He did mention 2 weeks ago that he's not ready for that step.

I also found out that he ignores my Whatsapp message at first. He goes on Whatsapp, responds to other people first, then later on, he would reply me.

"She met one of my friends lately, and asked me if they liked her. I had to lie. My friend went out of his way to NOT say anything about meeting her for the first time. That was a big red flag for me, and then pushes me down the road of do I want her to meet my parents? My other friends? We’ve been living in a bubble playing house. I’ve regrettably distanced myself from my friends as a result which makes me very sad. She is frankly quite embarrassing some times. And can’t contribute to an intelligent conversation but would then get mad about myself partaking in such a discussion. I’ll read a headline, and she’ll say “what does that mean?” I’m like what the fuck do you think it means. It’s words. On a page. If it’s not purses, or shoes, or celebrities, she doesn’t get it. I can’t watch the news because it makes her sad. I can’t talk politics because she has no clue what I’m talking about. I can’t listen to an NPR podcast with her because she’ll start talking 20 seconds in to it about something, anything."

He told me go take a reading comprehension class at that little school of mine

and whenever he is mad at me just tell me to leave he doesn't want to see me and that its his house and not ours, that makes me feel bad

He has apologized for all this stuff but it still is very hurtful. Especially since he knows I was pulled out of school by mom in 7th grade and beaten and told I was not college material and have busted my butt to get through college...

He is also gone 150 days out of the year for work so I rarely see him. When he is home he smokes pot on the porch and watches baseball and I think to make up for his absence he spoils me with lots of trips, gifts, concerts etc... I miss having a companion through the week, even though some women may argue they would love having the house to themselves all week long. Sometimes I feel I am just a convenience to him... I cook, clean, buy the groceries, watch and walk the dog, be there on the weekends so he's not alone
