Alright, 4 months ago (October) me and my crush started flirting with each other but never really made any serious moves. We’re both really awkward, shy, and dorky. But recently, two weeks ago, he told me he liked me. Over text of course 🤦🏽‍♀️ And I told him I liked him back. Anyways, ever since, he hasn’t really done anything. I expected for him to maybe ask me out, but he didn’t. We’re back to where we started, when were both quiet and awkward around each other. Should I just move on? I don’t want to, but it might be for the best. I can’t be in a relationship if all I’m going to do is wait for him. What if I’m waiting for nothing? What if I just end up getting hurt because he never did anything about it? Or what if he was lying about his feelings? No, he’s not like that. Oh and here’s the thing, I’m 16 and he’s 14 so maybe I’m just being stupid. He’s younger and doesn’t exactly know what to do I suppose. So maybe I should wait? I don't know. Being a teenager sucks !!

Yesterday we met for the first time. It was okay, i did most of the talking. He kept quiet a lot, so i thought he didn’t so i tried to cut it short but when i did he told me he didn’t have any other plans and for me to continue hanging out with him. However again he was very shy.

At the end of the date he hugged me bye with his arm around my waist, then as i was walking away hi-5’d me, is he interested in me?

Me and this guy are friendly with each other, but don't know each other well. We see each other once a week, during the week he's quiet, but in person he initiates conversations and shows interest: compliments me, asks about me and shares things about himself, laughs at my jokes, hangs around me when it's not necessary, got me an Uber etc. I texted him briefly here and there, he responded, but didn't ask me out or anything.

After we started hanging out he started behaving differently around me, the way he never did before. He was ignoring me completely while talking to everyone else, didn't look at me even once, but later we talked for couple of hours one on one. I figured maybe he's nervous bc he likes me, and he's afraid of rejection and waiting for more signs from me. He even made a comment/hint about liking when a girl makes the first move.

He's also a bad texter. He's on WhatsApp only once in a few hrs for just one second and his responses are one word (also in group chats). But I sort of asked him out through text, invited him to go to a party with me. He didn't answer and now I'm debating if I had to do it. Maybe I misinterpreted him and now I feel terrible for being intrusive bc I thought he needed it and he didn't.

Why would a guy show interest but not text or initiate anything? Is he shy or unsure? Does he really only want to be friends?
