Granted, he claims to be part American Indian, wikipedia quotes him as saying " My great-grandmother was quite a bit of Native American" which means he is less than 1/8, at a maximum, American Indian. On one hand, I think that the only race that really matters is the human race, but on the other hand if some white guy put on blackface to play a black character there would be hell to pay.

It's not like there are no American Indian actors. They just seem to usually get bit parts, filling stereotypical roles. In fact, the only example I can think of where and American Indian actor played a non-stereotypical Indian was Wes Studi in "Heat"

Isn't this the same thing as when white actors would put on blackface shows during the vaudeville days, or when Asians, like Bruce Lee, were turned down in favor of white actors?

Or am I just totally over-thinking this.
