Search Results: asking classmate out

A guy and I are part of an organization at our university, and we've been talking a bit because of it (i. e. him asking me to come hang out with groups of other club members/officers a bit throughout the week). I haven't though too much of it since it's pretty friendly.

I recently added him on Snapchat, and yesterday after viewing my story, he messaged me about it several hours later (usually people message you on Snapchat right after viewing your story?). I gave a nice but short reply, but he didn't stop the conversation. He asked me a question related to my reply, and we ended up chatting for an hour or two, both giving long responses and asking the other more questions. He eventually asked me if I'd like to study with him the next day for a class we're both in, and I agreed.

Today we met up and studied for 3-4 hours. A lot of it ended up having us talk about our lives completely aside from what we were studying. I also realized he has several other friends in the class, but he didn't invite any of them. Afterwards as we were walking across campus to leave, we realized we were both invited to a party in a few days. He said I should go with him and another girl from our club to hang out with them before and at the party. He had also been saying while we were studying that he didn't really feel like he needed to study any more for our class, but as we said goodbye and he gave me a hug, he said he'd text me about studying more tomorrow if I wanted.

My question is basically how can you tell if a guy is just being friendly/a good classmate or if he's potentially interested in you? Do any of the above actions signify one way or another? I don't really want to ask at this point and spoil a potentially really nice friendship if he isn't interested.

Well I'm just asking because I'm switching from a galaxy s5 to a IPhone 6 plus. I was going to get the 7 but I don't know anything about Iphones so I didn't think it was such a big deal.

But all my classmates we're like it's about time you switched to the better phone. Then that turned into an android vs iPhone argument. I just want to see which is better to you guys?

I always thought of him as a silly classmate and never thought he would like me because I thought he just had a playful personality. Once I think about it could he actually be interested in me?

- He messes around with me and acts playful (hugging, high fiving, silly dancing) Thing is his personality does seem to be like that to other girl as well at least that's what I think.
- He is the first person to request me on ALL my social media (Facebook, snapchat, instagram)
- We never actually had a great conversation because I'm more introverted but I still joke around with him sometimes
- On a school social media site, he took a selfie with me and him and made it his profile picture and still kept it there since last year (I didn't even know until a few months later)
- Friends had asked me a few times already if we had anything going on (A friend told me he acts different when I was mentioned) <- This is the main reason why I am asking this question because I actually think he likes me but I'm still unsure.
