I'm 18 years old and I somehow for the first time have a same gender attraction, but i can't see myself dating another man. I had a crush which was a girl but now, i'm very confused and i don't know what to do. is it just random feelings for a guy from hormones/growing up? i can't make up my mind. What do you think this is and what should i do?

We had been friends with a mutual attraction and chemistry. The problem is timing never worked in favor for ever doing anything more.

While she was still in a relationship she expressed to me she is co-dependent. She jumps from one relationship to the next. She makes the men the center of her world. Their friends become her friends. Their hobbies hers. When things go wrong, she is left with nothing.

When she and her ex split earlier this year, this issue was clearly brought back to the surface. I was all she had. We got closer and we went out. But I knew she had to do something, so I suggested she get into therapy. She did.

At first I saw great changes happen. She became very proactive in creating her own social circle and got involved in some new hobbies of her own. It took away attention from me, but I saw it as good.

Over the past month things have been very weird. One week she talks about us going out on a date soon, then never mentions it again. One day she tells me she loves me and we have a bright future ahead of us, next day she talks about her future on her own.

I brought it up last week and she told me the therapist has been telling her I am a threat to her treatment. That if we got involved she would lose focus on the work she has been doing and likely would fall back into her old bad habits. The therapist told her if we were "meant to be", I would wait until she has gained independence, on her own.

She has done everything this therapist has said to the letter. Which leaves me wondering if she is in fact becoming dependent on the therapists input. I feel there should be a way to work this out in such a way she continues to gain independence as well as see me.

I don't know what to do. I feel she is worth waiting for, but good opportunities have been passing through my life.
