Long story ahead, warning!

I have a female friend "Shelley" who is very dear to me. She has a female friend, let's call her "Abby", that she is close to.

Abby and I travel in the same social circles but are not really friends. She is gorgeous and uses that as a weapon, and seems to expect that she can get away with murder. She spent a long time hitting on me rather aggressively before I was able to finally get the message across -- Not interested in self-centered crazy! Since then Abby acts out toward me in increasingly passive aggressive ways for being closer friends with Shelley, almost jealously, even though there's nothing going on between Shelley and me more than friendship.

I have never talked about Abby to Shelley. Shelley is friends with Abby, and who am I to get in the way of that? There's just never been any reason for me to say anything at all about Abby.

Shelley had had a piece of good fortune last week that she had worked really hard for, that paid off spectacularly well. She posted a celebratory message on Facebook . She's not a braggart, or at least not more than anybody else on FB.

A few days later I was in a social gathering that included Abby, but not Shelley. Abby, after maybe one too many drinks, started loudly criticizing Shelley for that FB post in front of several other mutual friends and acquaintances. Abby had worked on something similar and it did not go nearly as well as Shelley's did. (So did I for that matter, but that's not important.) If ever there was a nail in the coffin of my opinion of Abby that was it. I gave her a tiny piece of my mind, not really enough to really take her to the cleaners but enough to let her know that Shelley had every reason to be proud of her accomplishment. Otherwise I've basically dismissed Abby from reality.

My dilemma is this. My friend Shelley has been publicly disrespected by a jealous friend of hers. Should I tell her? I get lost in girl-girl politics.
