I've been dating a guy for four months who's going off to college at the end of the summer and dumping me right before he leaves. Because one of my guy friends is also leaving for college and has a girlfriend still in high school I asked him for advice on how to talk to my boyfriend without creating more arguments. He actually helped a lot and I really appreciated his advice, however this is a guy I had feelings for about 3 years ago. I'm curious to know if it's wrong to talk to an ex/almost lover about relationship issues. I genuinely don't have feelings for this guy anymore and talk to him simply as a friend. Plus my boyfriend knows we facetime sometimes and text (I asked him before hand to make sure he was cool with it), and I never talk down on him. I really only ask for advice so I can fix things because I care about my boyfriend so much and want our relationship to last. Should I stop talking to my old friend about this type of thing? Should I let my boyfriend know I've talked about our relationship with a guy who I almost dated? Is it wrong not to do so?

He and I had been together for 3 years. He kept telling me it couldn't work because of our cultures but he would stay and it was intense. We were exclusive and even though he was really busy hr would make time for me and we would have long, deep conversations. He eventually dumped me out of the blue after I told him I would need to get an arranged marriage soon unless be made a serious move soon. I begged and messaged him many times. Finally, I hit it off with someone new. He messaged me again a few months after dumping me and I blew up on him and told him I had found someone new. I was just angry and upset. He seemed surprised and then he tried to make a move on me and when I resisted he got even more weird and was like this means you really did move on.. even if you were mad at me you would still want me. Anyways, fast forward, we started talking again. But he is being weird now. He refuses to have personal conversations, he keeps turning it into something sexual and he claims he can't remember any of our past. he has also brought up thr other guy multiple times -- I think he thinjs I am still talking to him. Also, anytime I ask him why he came back he avoids the question. He is now suggesting a eff buddies situation even though he knows I'm a virgin and not like that. What is the deal? Very hurt and confused.
