Search Results: seeing an old friend

So obviously, there's this guy. We've been friends for awhile, & after he had a nasty breakup over Christmas break. Well we were still close, & I kinda liked him, but he was struggling with the loss of a 2 year relationship that didn't end well, and needed space. Well after move in day in Aug, we started getting closer again. Hanging out a lot, walks, the little diner type place on campus... my feelings grew. I wasn't sure if it was mutual, but because we're apart of a lot of the same groups & were so close, I was seeing him so much that I was about to start making things crazy awkward. I asked one of our mutual friends who's basically his sister, & she said that while he was still having relationship anxiety, if I felt like we needed to talk about it, that we should. So we did. I got an awkward smile & "Okay", with a text a few minutes later saying that I took him off guard, but that he isn't looking into a relationship with anyone in anyway. The usual cop out. But like I said, he is actually struggling with relationship anxiety, & I feel like we've actually gotten a lot closer. We've gone to the coffee shop together almost every day since, we eat together a lot (usually w/ a group), occasional text, he cracks at almost all my jokes, the body language signs (with the exception of the hair), Snapchat story feature, today was the first day we haven't see each other & hung out in over a week and he texted me with a work question... so basically is there any chance that it wasn't a cop out & he really, truly isn't ready?

Oh, & this is probably a bigger deal then I'm making it out to be, but side note, I'm fairly certain his brother likes me?

There's also this other girl & they do stuff together, but she's several years older then us, usually is the one to initiate the hangout, and I think likes this other guy. But they do go get food some or an occasional movie, & he messes with his hair around her (But not the other signs). He insist that they're just friends, so I don't know.

My older sister is now 25, already finished her Master's in psychology and in a 1 year-old relationship. However, if there is anyone she has to be giving thank you to is me.

Brief flashback to 2012 (I was then 15):
She wanted to get married to her HS sweetheart and have kids. My parents obviously weren't happy about the news at all. In my mind I was thinking ''Are you stupid, what if it doesn't work out, get an education first''.

To make the story short, with the help of a couple of my 2 close friends and someone else, managed to successfully break up her engagement. She still believes to this day that he cheated on her. I couldn't bare seeing her stunting her education and relying her life on romance and prince charming. I always think of plan B if things don't work out. She doesn't know this however and never going to tell her.

Now, I don't oppose that anymore. She's free to settle down one day and form a family but when she was 19 and nearly wanted to quit college, obviously that was not the right moment at all.

My bestie of 3 years cheated on her boyfriend of 3 months and dropped that news on us girls last week.. basically they finally hooked up awhile back and she told us how "disappointed" she was. I don't think I have to go into what that means girls, wink wink. Especially compared to her last partner from what she said. She was so upset because she clicked so well with him and really saw a future. But basically her sis has not let her forget it since and it's getting old tbh. She yelled at her when she told us and basically has been a complete b about the whole situation since. I want to support my friend, but from someone who was cheated on in my last relationship, I'm torn. So if u where seeing somebody that you could really really see urself with but after weeks of falling head over heels you find out about his problem, do you think you could justify it? Obviously from first hand experience, there is never an excuse to betray someones trust, but I've never been in a situation like hers. I mean especially since he kept his secret from her. Which obviously waant fair to her. I admittedly haven't dated much so I appreciate the feedback :) hugs!
