So I've got a question for you all, because I'd like to see some answers. We all know that there's a widespread case of deadbeat dad going around today, right? In the USA, that is, I can't speak to other nations.

Anyway, guy meets girl, guy knocks up girl, then doesn't want to man up and be responsible. We've all seen/heard it, it's like the social memes about driving drunk.

So I thought about it and was wondering.

In the USA, we recognize that abortion is a woman's right. Like voting, or owning a gun, it's just something women can do, and no one has the right to sneer at her for doing it. Okay. That's life.

So here's my question.

Society tells us, "If a woman is irresponsible and gets knocked up, or an accident happens, it's her right to go get that baby scraped out of her womb and go on with her life." Just, terminate that road, right there.

Then society tells men, "If you're irresponsible and knock a girl up, or an accident happens, you have a duty to be there for that child and help support it and help raise it."

Does anyone else see how ridiculous that is? It's the same child, either way, who's going to be born. But we tell women, "Well, if you don't want the responsibility, just pay to have it scraped out of you or whatever." Then we tell men, "you've got an important responsibility to that child, unless she pays to have it terminated."

We accept that it's okay for women to kill the kid, but then expect men to act like it's a huge responsibility they should take seriously, with honor. It's the same baby that the man has a sacred duty to raise, but the woman can kill. It's the exact same life. Yet we say, "if the woman doesn't want to be responsible, sure, throw the corpse out with the trash. If the man doesn't want to be responsible, he's a deadbeat!"

Irony, much?
