We broke up in April. I know it's stupid that I'm still thinking about him, but we were hooking up after the break up b/c the sex was so good. Then at the end of July we stopped hooking up which is actually a bad idea. Now it's October and he texted me last weekend ( i feel like the dumbest girl ) being super flirty like we were dating again. And somehow convinced me to go over to his place , but i know y'all are going to judge me and call me stupid but i know. I just thought he was the same guy that cared for me when we used to date. Well, he changed because we were suppose to fuck today , but he blew me off. I've been craving sex so long now. Like what an ass. On top of all that i texted him, and he doesn't give a fuck about me anymore. Which made me really sad considering we used to date at the beginning of the year. I just needed to rant. I can't understand why he would treat me with such low respect after we were together.

I've had a few failed relationships. The pattern goes - guy treats me well in the beginning, I fall for him and invest all my energy into the relationship, guy starts demanding more and more from me and trying to control my life, I can't keep up with demands so start doing what I can but start resenting him for becoming bossy and start doing less, guy becomes agressive and cuts me down, when he is like that all the time I cut my losses and leave. I am a gentle personality and generous and this often gets mistaken as weakness or that I am a push over. I also am a bit of a free spirit and have strong opinions, for example, that a relationship shouldn't be a power struggle but should be both people supporting each other. I have now had a couple of people say to me that there aren't guys out there like that and where I have gone wrong is that I allow these guys to treat me like shit and I need to "nip" bad behaviour in the bud before his ego gets out of control. I'd like to think there are guys out there who, like me, would treat their partner with love, kindness and respect of their own accord without needing me to reprimand him when he does something selfish or mean. I want to be a partner not his parent. I don't want to have to be mean to my SO so he continues to respect me. I can respect a guy based on his personal qualities and achievements and dreams and passions, I don't need him to cut me down to make me respect him. In fact when he does that I respect him a whole lot less. So what's your view - do you have to cut men down to keep them respecting you or have I just been unfortunate to have found a few a$$holes that want to just take and control?
