I see girls asking this stuff all the time on here so:

End of August is our second anniversary roughly or at least when she counts it.

So i have arranged a few things to happen that will be surprises, but i also wanna get her a gift. She's kind of been hinting that she wants us to get married. I'm really not ready to go there, but i do wanna make this special for her.

I've arranged for a local sushi chef to come by our house, do some sushi interactive kind of stuff, he'll teach us some things etc and then leave us for a nice dinner that we have prepared. We'll also have some wine selected from a local winery along for the ride. And then we'll be gettin busy for the evening!!! She knows that i have prepared some thing to celebrate our anniversary, but she thinks it's dinner out at one of our frequented nicer restaurants, just a nice night out. She thinks then that we are going to portland the next day to visit some of my friends, which by the way we are not. Instead we are going the other direction where i have a cabin arranged at a resort that's on a lake near the Canada US border. Accessible only by boat and right over the water, i had to make the reservations for it last winter. She has been wanting to go there but you have to make the reservations so far in advance it's hard for us to do that. I took the chance last December and reserved it for 3 nights just in case it would work out. But i also wanna give her a gift that makes a good statement (and that doesn't say let's get married).

So im thinking of a few options:

1) Practical, something she can use at home and work like a macbook or something
2) A little less practical and a little more personal, she's into photography/video as a hobby so i was thinking a ince dslr or camcorder
3) A little more personal like jewelry or something... i'm kind of against this one cause i'm afraid it might make a statement about getting married or something though i could just be paranoid
