I was 14 and at the movies with my friends and I was wearing a 1 piece black dress with white pantyhose. I had a great time at the movies until the lights came on at the end of the movie and there was blood on my stockings and my panties was drenched in blood. I thought I was going to bleed to death and I started crying for help. I felt so embarrassed that I wanted to get out of the theater quick. My friends called me an ambulance and I was taken to the emergency room. Before I reached the emergencey room I asked if I was going to die. I was told no and that I was alert and it was likely that I had my period. When the doctor came in, she comforted me with a hug and a kiss and told me that I'll be ok as I'm maturing into a woman. She told me she had to contact my parents to come pick me up but I asked for my mom only to come get me as I didn't want my dad to know what happened. I got my discharge papers along with some pads to wear over the next few days. Before my mom took me home, she brought me a change of clothes and took me out to get some ice cream. This time I didn't want strawberry syrup as I would be grossed out so I had a sundae with chocolate syrup. While eating ice cream my mom told me all I needed to know about my body and then we stopped over at the drug store to buy some pads and pantyliners. She told me no tampons as I'm too young to wear them.
