Ok so I have this family friend who last time i saw her she walked up to me and flirted with me and had a huge grin on her face where she asked me to come visit her at her new job.

She was recently engaged and the engament is off. I'm like 5 years older then her.

I texted her and asked if droping by today during her lunch time was ok and she said yes. I met up with her right before it was her lunch break and we chatted for a little bit before she told me that she had made lunch plans with one of her school girlfriend. So instead of getting a chance to sit down with her to talk she went with her friend and left me. She texted me apologizing for being "a horrible friend". I said it was cool and not to worry.

My question is, do you think she likes me but she double booked on accident, or does she just see me as a friend?

So I had a mandatory department equity training thing for all the newbs and the first thing up on the screen was, and I paraphrase a bit, "True or false; Asking someone of the opposite sex out on a date or engaging in innocent flirting is not sexual harassment?" I'm thinking true. Apparently the answer is false. I'm like how the fuck can it be sexual harassment unless you literally threw her over your shoulder and said "we're going on a date" (and I'm sure there's probably some girls who'd be into that!) or you repeatedly ask and she repeatedly turns you down. There was no discussion like "oh as long as you read the situation properly and don't cross any obscene boundaries like dragging her off kicking and screaming, then you're all good. No, it was "it's sexual harassment". I just find the entire thing completely ridiculous. And people wonder why a lot of guys are hesitant to approach/ask out girls. It's because of shit like this that reinforces the mindset that girls don't want your attention, however innocent and well-intentioned it may be. Anyways, that's my rant. What do you guys think?
