So my boyfriend of one year is very close to his family and most of all his 4yo neice. We are constantly playing with her and soending most of the time I'm over with her. At times it can be annoying as she is a child and at times I spend more than half the day with the two of them because she loves it when I come over. On our anniversary I gave him a chocolate bar with his gift and he immediatly said that his neice would love it and when she saw it she said it was hers and not his and practically took it from him and he did nothing and just let her keep it. She also took the gift bag and just dragged it around in front of me, and I don't care about her doing so since she's a child but it bothers me that he doesn't do anything about it. Also, this bear that I gave him for Valentine's day was in her collection of stuffed animals. It upsets me that anything I give him, whether is a gift or my time is always shared or conpletely taken by her and he does nothing about it. Is this normal that I expect the things I give him to be kept and taken care of by him?

Say your anniversary or her bday was coming up. You bought plane tix and booked hotels for the event. You also bought her an expensive gift. But... You guys fought and you broke up with her in the heat of the moment. Would you go back to her? Or is it really over?

I have a friend that did not grow up in the States but has been here now over 15 years. He says that women in particular go too overboard with holidays and birthdays and Valentines Day, none of which he ever celebrated as a kid or in his culture. When it comes to his wife, who is American, he doesn't care about those type of days even though she goes all out for him. He frequently forgets about her birthday, or their anniversary, and doesn't put much if any effort into gifts. This annoys her, I know, so one day all three of us were talking and the subject was brought up. After some back and forth between the two of them, I made a point to him that even if he doesn't care whether she celebrates these things for him (which he truly truly does not care if she were to forget), these dates are important to her. She likes them, she thinks anniversaries and Valentines day are special days that celebrate their love, and even beyond that, she's not a materialistic person, she simply would like a card even if he wrote it on just a scrap of paper and maybe they go out to eat. He says there shouldn't have to be a certain day for all this and because he isn't from here, he can't be expected to follow cultural norms here, but as she pointed out, he has learned the language, he's changed his style of dress on his own, and has otherwise assimilated into this culture in hundreds of ways, and this is a part of it and is very much important to her because she grew up celebrating these days and wants to share them with him.

This female I know is in a relationship with a man and a woman at the same time. Today was the woman/man anniversary, the other woman bought the female a ring for sentimental reasons a while back. So the woman thats in the relationship with both. Posted on social media what the man bought her today and commented with lovy dovy stuff. But I know the ring the other woman bought was also in the photo (Something that the man did not purchase)

What would be her reason for adding the ring if he didn't purchase it? And thanking him for her gifts. And no the other woman is not on social media so she does not know. She showed me the ring before she gave it to her so that's how I know but have not said a word about it.

Me and my boyfriend will soon be 3 years together. we are 17. I bought him some kinds of presents including cool phone case, wall stickers, zipper earphones, cool gadget mug, massage device and I will also buy him some video games, and thinking about more ideas..
would be happy if you help me with that.. I will of course cake a bake or other sweet thing. :3
and I think I'll organize a picnic at a nice, quiet beach at sunset.. then back home to romantic bath with candles if we'll be home alone..
anyway I was also thinking about making a scrapbook with photos of us, decorate each page and stuff.
the thing is he always didn't really liked gifts such as copuns, stuff with photos etc.. all those DIY stuff.. but I was thinking it may be different since this one will include photos and such? is this a lame gift? too kitch or girly maybe? I'm afraid he wouldn't like it.. guys i'd like to hear your honest opinions about gifts like that! and if you have more ideas! thanks!
