There's this guy I see around my school, and he's always staring at me. I've noticed him since last year. He's on the football team and a grade older. I was auditioning for the musical, and when I first walked in I saw him staring suggestively, I just ignored it. Later on, I was practicing my dance and I noticed that he kept sneaking looks at me. At one point he was basically right in front of me watching me dance. When I noticed he just quickly walked away. His friend kinda looked alarmed for some reason. Everytime I was around he was talking about how he's going to work out or he'd be jumping around or something. When I finally went to audition, I was still on stage and the ended up running up the steps towards me and all of a sudden was asking the judge,"can guys perform now?" and he sounded all flustered. So later on I found out there were singing auditions afterwards, and when I walked in he was practicing with everyone else and he saw me and I like completely threw him off when he was dancing, it was kinda funny lol. I mean, are these actual signs of interest? Or is he just looking to hook up?

So yeah, my cousin who is of Haitian decent had a crush on this white guy and she told me that she tried to ask him out to a school dance yesterday. She said that he rejected her because she was black. She said that he scoffed and said "Sorry, I don't date black girls. I only date white girls."

She was crazy upset about this and was crying. She is still upset.

The reason I am asking this is because race is a huge topic on G@G and many people have different perceptions on what is seen as racist.

Is it racist to reject someone based on race? Is having a racial preference racist And how can I comfort my cousin? Thank you.
