So...there are two guys in my life, one I have been going out with for 2 years and sometimes I feel in love and other times, a lot of times I feel like I want to scream. The other guy is like my best friend and loves me, but has a girlfriend. I know he'd leave her for me but I just don't know how long it would last. My boyfriend's mood and attitude are literally always on the edge of a knife, while my best friend and me get along always and rarely argue. I want to leave my boyfriend of 2 years for my best friend but I don't want to lose him if things go bad. My best friend and me as bad as it sounds cheat a lot with each other and he even takes me out, goes for drives and all sorts of stuff. He loves me and my personality, where as my boyfriend never compliments me. But my boyfriend and I go out and do things he likes and some I like. We can sit and just talk about certain things and have fun. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?!?!

I've been in a relationship for a year now.

While some of you may argue that a year is not a long time, I think we can agree that the typical "infatuation" or "honeymoon" stage of a relationship lasts about 3-6 months.

I've read on here, and heard elsewhere that men, once they believe they have a girl, don't try as hard. This, I believe can be agreed as typically a true statement.

However, I would like to turn the attention to my relationship, if you will.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year now and according to others (our friends, family members, and just random odd couples we meet when we are out to eat) we act like we've been together a month tops.

I guess this is true in a sense. He is always putting forth his best effort with our relationship and that is greatly appreciated, trust me.

I've been in a relationship once before this one and that one fizzled out after about seven months. By then it was no longer exciting.

But with my current boyfriend, he makes it exciting and he's altogether fantastic. He's sweet, charming, romantic, funny...all the good stuff.

Sorry in advance if this seems like a dumb question, I'm really into behavioral sciences.

Do you think he's still "trying to get me/keep me" as it were, or do you think he genuinely likes me and will continue on like this. I.e. is this his natural personality, you think or will it too fizzle out and become more relaxed and he will become less excited to see me every time.

Because as it is right now, he's excited to see me every time we hang out.

Side note: I know he genuinely likes me, otherwise he wouldn't have stuck around for a year. I'm just asking if that's his personality or is he still trying to impress me? Or is it a mix of both?
