Okay, first, she's not officially engaged yet, but she and the guy she is dating have been together for 7 years and plan to get married in the next couple years. And she's a bit of a ditz.

She was like my best friend when we were waitresses together, but when I started my career and moved 45 minutes away, it was hard to get in touch with her. She came to see me once and she never returns phone calls or texts, even now that I've moved back. And whenever she does call back, it's usually after at least a week and she only talks about herself. I came to see her when I first moved back a couple months ago and her 18 year old neighbor was there and referred to her fiance as 'boyfriend person or whatever'. I look at confused and said, 'Um, you have a ring on your finger, so wouldn't he be your fiance?' and she said yes.

My friend then looked at me and said, 'I know what you're thinking. How can she find a husband at 18 and I'm 26 but can't even get a guy to commit to me?' and then laughed, which isn't what I wasn't thinking at all. When I confronted her about it, she told it was a joke and moved on to the next topic.

Then she told me she wants me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, but since I'll be the only black one, she wants me in the middle so we look like an inside out Oreo. She also told me her dog is racist and I'm the only black person she's ever responded well to. Yes, my friend is white.

Honestly, I really don't want to be in her wedding. I think we've grown way too far apart and, frankly, she is REALLY getting on my nerves. She first asked like 3 years ago which is when I promised to do it, but now that we've gotten together a few times, I don't even want to go to it.

Should I go because of a promise a made years ago or should I just tell her no? I don't dislike her, but I'm not really feeling being in her wedding.

I mean she is 28 years old and she hasn't dated for six years. I tried to introduce her to guys but she keeps saying she isn't ready for dating again. I mean come on. She's only had one boyfriend and just because one little thing happened between them doesn't mean its the end of the world. I mean six years is quite enough and she should really go out on dates with guys and she needa to decide what she wants to do because having children after 35 isn't good. I mean six years! She keeps telling me she'll date again when she's ready. I was so disappointed because there is this really awesome man that is interested in her and he would give her dad's blessings and he doesn't play with a womans mind and will treat a woman like she should be treated. He's a doctor and he wants to start a family one day. I told her to let me know when she is ready. Next time I'm not taking no for an answer. She only had one boyfriend in her life and so many guys would wanna go out with her. She is an attractive and beautiful woman. She has a disability (Aspergers Syndrome) but so what? She's smart, educated and she is finishing school in May 2017. It's highly time that she has a mate. How can I convince her to date again? I'm NOT taking no for an answer this time.
