there's this guy He usually dates popular and pretty cheerleaders. one of the most popular cheerleaders in our grade asked him to sadies (a girls-ask-guys dance at school). And I know a few girls that think he's hot. He's the loudest guy in class and confident.

So, here's what has happenned so far in point form

-I started to like him
-we rarely talk
-I told him at the end of the school year last year online that I liked him
-he messaged back sayin he couldnt date anyone because of sports and school, and he wants to be able to actually spend time with the girl. He said he would start to date in grade 11
-in September all of his friends knew but didn't tell me. They just hinted saying I should be his cuddle buddy
-I heard him himself say to a friend "hey, you know Clara? Yea she still likes me."
-my friend asked him to go to a dance to dance with me and he said he would try to go but ended up not being able to
-my other friend asked him yesterday just before the end of the school day if he could ever see us together in grade 11 and he said "umm haha i dont know its a possibility like she's really nice and pretty and can sing well but I gotta go see you later"
-He has never been one to just throw around compliments, especially to girls
-My friend that tried to make him go to the dance didn't want me to ask anyone else to ask him if he would date me. She knew that he said it was a possibility but she kept it hidden from me and she doesn't know I know. She told me he probably wouldn't date me and told my other friend not to tell me the real answer.
-he stared right at me yesterday when I was walking home

So my senior prom is coming up and I've only ever been to 2 school dances in my life. I really want to go and I am going but should I go with friends or a date? I've never gone with a date and it would make the slow dances a lot less awkward but friends are always fun. Will someone ask me out or should I ask someone (even though I have no one in mind)? I don't know. I've always really wanted one of those cute prom posals though..
