You're all probably thinking 'Ugh, not this again.' But I'm curious. In my own opinion, I feel that The Vampire Diaries/The Originals is a bit better than the Twilight Saga. Now before you claim that I am being biased, let me tell you I've watched and read both series.

The reason is because I feel that The Vampire Diaries/The Originals is more reasonable/realistic. The vampires don't sparkle, they are unable to walk in the sunlight, and their weaknesses are similar to those of their folklore counterparts. The same applies for the werewolves and witches. That brings me to another point, TVD doesn't just focus on the relationship between Vampire and Werewolves but also witches. The plot is interesting and the acting, once again in my own opinion, is more spot on.

I love both series, its just that I feel that The Vampire Diaries/The Originals have more of a stronger appeal to me than Twilight.

I'm a new employee at a publishing company that is coming out with a new novel this year. I'm in charge of providing marketing advice for the project...and I need some input!

I need help choosing a cover design for our new book, MORTIS. MORTIS is a YA speculative fiction about a teenage assassin who decides to destroy the killing school that raised her. This book is for mid-late teens. It does have a female protagonist, so it'll most likely appeal to girls, but we're also very interested in picking a cover that appeals to guys too.

About the story:

While there are a couple crushes and cute stuff, romance is not a big part of this book (i.e. It's nothing so girlie as Twilight). While this book is about assassins, life/death stuff, and includes fighting and poison...it is not graphic or disgustingly violent. I'd give it about a PG-13 rating myself. I happen to think it's a pretty intelligent book and well written, which is why I chose to contribute to this project over others. (NOTE: I am not the author of this book, nor did I know the author before receiving her manuscript, so I have a pretty objective opinion that it's good ;).
