Search Results: how to handle rejection

It's a social norm that a man should always be the one to ask a girl out on a date first, always be the one to initiate that first kiss and always be the one to just make any first moves in general. I want to know from you guys:

A) How you feel about this being our current social standard?

B) Should things be different?

[My Personal Opinion]

I feel as though girls don't quite grasp how much grief and frustration a guy goes through having to always be the one to initiate things. I also feel as though girls should approach and ask out guys just as much as we do them.

It is widely believed that women just can't handle the same level of rejection that a man can and hence why things are the way they are. I say that's a load of BS, it's about time girls started to step up to the plate.

And Ladies, please don't comment saying "that's not the social standard", because if it were not, than please explain these everyday scenarios:

1.) Girls at bars dress up and look pretty, just to sit at the bar and wait for cute guys to talk to them.

2.) Girls in class will strike up the conversation but then wait for the guy to ask them out.

3.) Girls in the work place will flirt with their co-worker, hoping he will catch on and ask her out.

4.) Girls on the sidewalk will look at a guy and smile hoping he will come over and start a conversation.

...The list goes on.
