it just seems to me that the people that hook up are of similar types... and usually I don't see nerdier people as the hook up kind. I thought since they may not want to have sex as often or they don't because of other reasons, maybe they want something more serious and may form attachment by sex more than a super sexually active person. Of course I realize I am generalizing, I'm not saying all nerds. But, I go to a school with a lot of nerdy dudes, and flirting with them is so awkward because they flirt and try to hit on me with science like phrases and seem to not take initiative unless I stick my desires in their faces. I'm also wondering if I wanted to hook up, is it something normal for them too?

My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly 7 months now and he has been a great boyfriend. Way better than my ex. And yes, we have been sexually active. He calls me every night just to talk, he's very affectionate, he tells me he loves me everytime, takes care of me, he would be there whenever i need him. he's amazing even though we do have our little arguments.
Anyway, so my boyfriend is 26 and he has a job that doesn't pay well. He lives in a rented house with a lot of other people. He has been looking for other jobs recently and going to look somewhere else to live. I have seen other 26 year old guys that have their own apartment and have a decent job. Im not trying to be shallow or anything but yeah I wish he was like that. I mean... I do care about him and I truly do have strong feelings for him.
Im a full time student majoring in finance. I quit my job last year due to personal reasons so now I am looking for a job since this would be my last semester and would be graduating soon. I am planning to get a job at a company that would be a decent pay since I have experience in the required field and I have the degree as well. My family is highly educated and middle class. I dont know whether my parents would like it when I bring home my boyfriend and he tells them about his current situation.
Am I being shallow? Should I stay or leave?
